Solatube International, Inc. («Solatube International») is a daylighting system manufacturing company based in the USA, but operating both nationally and internationally. Solatube International is committed to protecting our visitors’ privacy. This policy outlines our personally identifiable information handling practices and covers both Solatube International and its national, international and commercial and residential website(s) (“website(s)”) only. This privacy policy/notice applies solely to information collected by these websites. It will notify you of the following:

Providing Visitors with Anonymous Access: Visitors can access our website(s) and browse our website(s) in entirety without disclosing any of your personally identifiable information, with the exception of email addresses which may be collected by cookies (described below).

Information Collection and Use: Solatube International collects personally identifiable information to fulfill requests that you make of us and to contact you about items such as specials and new product introductions. We only have access to information that you voluntarily give us via our website(s). Our website(s) collect freely given personally identifiable data on the following pages:

  • Contact (Customer Support) forms
  • Warranty registration forms
  • Feedback forms
  • Employment submissions
  • Commercial support request forms
  • Mailing List Sign-up forms

Accessing and Updating Information: We require your help in making sure your personally identifiable information is correct in our systems. Please notify us of any changes to your personally identifiable information. We may ask for you to verify other personal information to make these changes. We do this to verify your identity as an added security measure. Should you have the need to update your information, please contact Solatube International.

You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. This can be done at any time by contacting us electronically or by calling the phone number given on our website(s). Furthermore, you have a right to:

  • Know what data we have about you, if any.
  • Change/correct any data we have about you.
  • Have us delete any data we have about you.
  • Unsubscribe to any newsletter or correspondence you receive from us.
  • You may opt-out of receiving marketing e-mails by following the opt-out instructions provided to you in those e-mails.

Information Sharing and Disclosure: Solatube International may send personally identifiable information about you to other companies or people in any of the following circumstances: (1) We need to share your information to provide a product or service to you; (2) We need to send the information to companies who work on behalf of Solatube International to provide a product or service to you; and/or (3) We need to respond to subpoenas, court orders or other legal processes. Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email or postal mail in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services.

Consent to Transfer: The Solatube websites are operated in the United States and Solatube operates its business in the United States. If you are located in the European Union, Canada or elsewhere outside of the United States, please be aware that information we collect will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Sites or our features or providing us with any information, you consent to this transfer, processing and storage of your information in the United States, a jurisdiction in which the privacy laws may not be as comprehensive as those in the country where you reside and/or are a citizen.

Data Retention: Solatube International will not retain your personal information longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.

Security Measures: Solatube International takes commercially reasonable steps to protect and secure Personal Information. However, no data transmission over the Internet, by wireless transmission or any electronic storage of information can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.  Please note that we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information we collect, and you use the Solatube International websites and our services and provide us with your information at your own risk. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (e.g., warranty or customer service follow-up) are granted access to your personally identifiable information. Children’s Security: We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children or those under 18.

Linked Websites: We provide links to third party websites. Since we do not control these sites, we encourage our users to (i) be aware when they leave our site(s) and (ii) to read the privacy policies of any other site that collects personally identifiable information that we link to. The same stands true for websites that link to the Solatube International website(s). Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices, or lack thereof, of other sites.

Cookies: Some Solatube International web pages may use cookies. Cookies help us provide a better user experience and may pass along personally identifiable information such as email addresses. If you choose to disable cookies in your browser, you can still currently access all of our web pages at the date of this posting. Some web pages may not be able to complete certain functions if cookies are disabled in the future.

Remarketing (aka Targeted or Interest-Based Advertising): Solatube International websites use third party vendors, including Google, to serve you ads based on your viewing history. For example, Google AdWords may show you ads that relate to the pages you visited or content you viewed while on our website. The system does this by placing a cookie on your web browser.

This cookie does not in any way identify you or give access to your computer or mobile device.

This activity merely allows us to customize our marketing to better suit your needs and interests. The result is that you only see ads that are most relevant to you.

Traffic Statistics: Solatube International may accumulate and review non-personally identifiable information in general server log files. This may include, but is not limited to: domain names (i.e., adelphia.net), IP addresses (i.e., 209.126.53.25), browser usage, referring page, what keywords are used to find us, what websites send us traffic, which pages of the website are viewed the most, which browsers are most popular, what page a visitor comes in on and what page they leave on, what time of day is the busiest, and search engine referrer of visitors. Solatube International uses data from Google’s Interest-based advertising or 3rd-party audience data (such as age, gender and interests) with Google Analytics.

Your California Privacy Rights: California law permits residents of California to request certain details about how their information is shared with third parties for direct marketing purposes. However, please note that under the law, a business is not required to provide this information if it permits California residents to opt in to, or opt out of, this type of sharing. Solatube International qualifies for this alternative option. As described above, we will not share information about you with third parties for their direct marketing purposes without your consent. In addition, you can request that we stop future disclosures of your information for direct marketing purposes by contacting a Solatube International Customer Care Representative.

Policy Updates and Material Changes: Solatube International reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time without notice to you. Any changes will be effective immediately upon the posting of the revised Privacy Policy. However, Solatube International will not use your Personal Information in a manner materially different than what was stated at the time it was collected without your consent. The Effective Date of this Privacy Policy is October 15, 2013.
